The Ministerial Committee, headed by Dr. Jamil Thajib Yousef, Director General of the Accounting Department at the Ministry of Finance, met at the headquarters of the Insurance Bureau on Sunday, March 10, 2024, and in the presence of Mrs. Israa Saleh Daoud, Head of the Bureau, the Director General of the General Authority for Taxes, and a representative of the Kurdistan region, the Director General of the Accounting Department and Mr. Director General of the General Directorate of Insurance Affairs, Director General of Taxes and State Real Estate, and Director of Legal at the General Directorate of Insurance Affairs. That meeting came to discuss renewal, stamp, and tax accounting fees for insurance companies in the region. The meeting resulted in agreement on several points, including the payment of the stamp duty and all other fees to the region’s departments, and they are transferred from the Accounting Department in the region to the Accounting Department in the Federal Ministry of Finance, in cash. It was also agreed to monitor insurance companies with headquarters or branches in the region through field inspections carried out by the Insurance Bureau in Baghdad in coordination with insurance companies in the region. In addition to many essential points that were agreed upon. The minutes of the meeting will be submitted to His Excellency the Minister of Finance to enter into force. At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Jamil Thajib Yousef thanked the attendees for their fruitful cooperation and the Insurance Bureau for their efforts in making this meeting a success.
