In implementation of the requirements for implementing the government program and based on the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Finance, Ms. Taif Sami, regarding automation procedures for the ministry’s departments, and with close follow-up by the head of the Insurance Bureau, Ms. Israa Saleh Dawoud, a meeting was held on Thursday morning, March 14, 2024, at the Bureau’s headquarters, attended by the heads and members of the committees. Formed by the head of the Bureau to discuss the work completed by the departments regarding the implementation of the strategic objectives of the Insurance Bureau in line with the government programme. Regarding the automation system and its work, the Director of the Bureau’s Computer Department explained that some systems were 100% completed in cooperation with all departments, while the rest of the programs need a study on system analysis.

Regarding the electronic control system, it has been completed and is under discussion to provide protection for the system and ensure the confidentiality of information for companies to prevent hacking.

As for the application of financial accounting standards, the most important of which is Standard (17) on insurance contracts, the committee responsible for that is unable to conduct training and application unless there is an official direction from the Federal Supervision Office.

As for the Training and Qualification Committee, the Bureau has communicated with Arab and foreign entities specialized in insurance for the purpose of training, which was previously stipulated to be in Iraq and will be in coordination with the financial and accounting center in the Ministry. These committees work continuously to implement all procedures, especially insurance work.
