Based on the directives of the Minister of Health, Professor Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, and the supervision of the head of the delegation, Mr. Ali Ahmed Obaid, Director General of the Health Insurance Fund, who is vested with the powers of the Chairman of the Health Insurance Authority, the Insurance Bureau visited one of the formations affiliated with the Ministry of Finance today, Tuesday, April 16, 2024, and the delegation was received by the Chairman of the Insurance Bureau. During the meeting, ways of joint health cooperation between the Health Insurance Authority and the Insurance Bureau were discussed for the purpose of initiating contracting procedures with licensed insurance companies for the purpose of providing health insurance to expatriates and foreign visitors to Iraq based on Article 6/Second and Article 39 of the Health Insurance Law No. 22 of 2020.
The head of the delegation stressed the importance of health insurance as it is one of the priorities of the government program

For his part, the head of the Insurance Bureau appreciated the visit of the head of the Health Insurance Authority for the continuous cooperation with all segments of society in providing the best medical, health and treatment services to the insured.
