National Insurance Company
The National Insurance Company is one of the formations of the Ministry of Finance. It was established in accordance with Law No. 56 of 1950 with a nominal capital of one million dinars. It became a public company to practice all types of insurance in accordance with Public Companies Law No. (22) of 1997, and its capital was increased to reach 15 billion dinars in 2006. In 2011, the company’s management worked to increase this capital to 60 billion dinars and is awaiting final approval. The National Insurance Company was distinguished by the diversity of its insurance coverage and its provision of all types of insurance (fire and accident, engineering, automobile, agricultural, marine, and Life, ship insurance and reinsurance) The company also provides specialized advice in the field of insurance. The National Insurance Company is characterized by very high reserves that reflect its financial solidity. The National Insurance Company is considered one of the largest Arab companies and has its position in the global insurance market through reinsurance. Its work is with the largest reinsurers in the world to cover its large works of giant infrastructure and energy projects. Investment is considered a synonym for insurance business, as the company invests in several areas, including (investment, real estate, deposits, and remittances, contributing to the capital of Iraqi mixed and private companies and Arabic, real estate lending, etc.). The National Insurance Company is considered one of the basic pillars supporting the national economy and preserving the country’s national wealth. The National Insurance Company has included terrorist acts by insuring against the risks to which the Iraqi citizen is exposed, with insurance documents for people, vehicles, and the transport of goods, and recently included the glass document, the fire document, and acceptance Insurance against terrorism risks for shops.

Production (bonuses and compensation)
1- The company achieved premiums for various types of insurance amounting to (91,576,020,000) thousand dinars (ninety-one billion five hundred and seventy-six million and twenty thousand dinars)
2- The compensation paid to the insured amounted to (22,495,933,000) thousand dinars (twenty-two billion and four hundred (ninety-one billion five hundred and seventy-six million and twenty thousand dinars) and ninety-five million nine hundred and thirty-three thousand dinars).
3- Revenues from insurance operations amounted to (6,519,374,000) thousand dinars (six billion five hundred and nineteen million three hundred and seventy-four thousand dinars).
Second: – Investment
1- The volume of investment reached (155,439,046,000) thousand dinars (one hundred and fifty-five billion, four hundred and thirty-nine million and forty-six thousand dinars).
2- Investment revenues for the year 2021 amounted to (5,983,112,000) thousand dinars (five billion nine hundred and eighty-three million one hundred and twelve thousand dinars).
Third: – Computer
Continuing to write new systems and update existing systems.
Maintaining computers and related devices for branches and departments and replacing inks and cartridges.
The company’s work is stored on CDs, one copy of which is kept in the company and the other copy is sent to the Ministry of Finance.
The fingerprint system has been implemented.
The electronic archiving system has been adopted.
A network was installed to distribute mail in the company.
Fourth: – Courses and delegations
A- Courses
(132) employees were trained through 26 insurance specialization programs.
B- Avadat
(551) employees were dispatched inside Iraq.
Fifth: – Artistic and marketing activities
1- Completing semi-monthly and monthly reports and sending them to the Ministry of Finance.
2- The report on the recommendations of the Council of Deputy Ministers was completed and sent to the Ministry of Finance.
3- Statements were completed for producers regarding the implementation rates of the production plan.
4- The unified framework report was completed and sent to the Ministry.
5- (2) producers were contracted in agreement with the company.
6- The 2020 calendars were printed and distributed to state departments and company employees.
7- Strategic communication was completed and sent to the Ministry of Finance.
Sixth: Media activity
1- The topic of insurance and the necessities of this stage was published in Al-Sabah newspaper, and it dealt with raising the efficiency and activity of insurance companies operating in Iraq after the gradual breakthrough in the economic field, represented by the initiation of some service and production projects, which requires raising the activity and efficiency of insurance companies in parallel with this breakthrough and preparing for the next phase, which is expected. It can bring about tangible development in economic activity.
2- Various promotional materials were purchased for the purpose of distributing them to policy holders and insured citizens.
3- Participated in the First Nineveh International Conference and Exhibition for Energy, Construction and Investment for the period from 23-26/5/2021.
4- Video meetings (audio and video) were filmed with the directors of branches and departments to explain the documents in an easy and simple way, and they were published on social networking sites, including these branches:
– (Life Insurance Branch, Compulsory Insurance Branch, Marine Insurance Branch, Car Insurance Branch, Agricultural Insurance Branch, Engineering Insurance Branch and Fire and Accident Insurance Branch)
5- Comprehensive quality management procedures were initiated and the qualification of cadres from all departments and branches began by involving them in qualification courses to prepare them as internal quality auditors (ISO 9001: 2015).
6- Participation in the Kirkuk International Exhibition for Energy, Construction and Investment.
7 – Participation in the First Babylon International Exhibition for Industries and National Production.
8- Participation in the first annual international scientific conference entitled (Reforming the insurance sector in Iraq).
9 – Participation in a workshop for the banking and insurance sectors under the auspices of the Central Bank.
10- Holding a workshop entitled (Negotiating potential and self-marketing for sales and marketing people) by the company’s branch in Babylon Governorate, in cooperation with the College of the Future.
11- Participation in the First Nineveh International Exhibition for Energy, Construction and Investment.
