In the year 2005, a number of distinguished businessmen studied the status and condition of the Iraqi market in general and the insurance market in particular, and the need for insurance companies affiliated with the private sector. It was decided, by agreement, to initiate the establishment of an insurance company that would have distinguished relationships and activities to contribute to filling the void resulting from the market’s need for companies. Efficient and good insurance, and accordingly, the establishment of Al-Ittihad International Insurance Company (private shareholding) was initiated on 10/23/2005 under the Certificate of Incorporation No. 29175, dated 4/18/2006. The company’s name and logo were chosen to enhance the spirit of cooperation and unity to serve the citizen and increase his insurance awareness.
