Under the patronage of His Excellency the Honorable Minister of Finance, Ms. Taif Sami Muhammad, and under the supervision of Ms. Israa Saleh Dawoud, President of the Insurance Bureau, a special symposium was held on Thursday morning, 5/23/2024, in cooperation with the Federal Integrity Commission at the Bureau’s headquarters, under the title (Anti-Corruption Strategy in the Insurance Sector). This symposium was attended by Representatives of the Federal Integrity Commission, the Department of Relations with Non-Governmental Organizations, and representatives of public and private insurance companies. The symposium addressed the importance of joint cooperation in promoting a culture of ethical behavior in the public and private sectors through concerted oversight efforts to undermine the scourge of corruption in the private sector and besiege the corrupt and those who trespass on public money. . The Integrity Commission also stressed the representatives of the private sector in the field of insurance to develop the performance of this sector, stressing the need for private insurance companies to compete with public insurance companies in order to serve the Iraqi insurance market. The attendees stressed the unification of efforts in line with the directions of the government program, which emphasizes combating corruption in all its forms, including focusing on the institutional governance of information that will contribute effectively and significantly to eliminating this scourge.
